About Burnley & District U3A
BURNLEY & DISTRICT U3A has members from Burnley and surrounding townships which include; Accrington, Nelson, Colne, Padiham and Rossendale Valley. It was formed in 2007 and now has over 260 Members and 30 Interest Groups. Anyone wishing to join may do so by coming along to our Monthly Meeting.
A monthly meetings is held on the fourth Thursday of each month at:
Nazareth Unitarian Chapel
Padiham Lancs BB12 8JH
The Meeting starts at 2.30pm. There is no charge for Members and visitors are charged £2.00.
A talk is followed by refreshments. A monthly Newsletter is handed out to each member which contains information on the forthcoming events and Group activities.
In addition to the regular Interest Groups, a wide variety of Outings are organised to e.g. theatre, exhibitions, places of interest etc.
Members who are not present at the meeting receive their Newsletter later either by Post or by E-Mail.
The financial year runs from January.The annual membership fee which is due on the 1st April is:-
£14 April to March or £9.50 from October to March single person.
£26 April to March or £17 from October to March for husband and wife or partners living at the same address.
£6 per person from January to March.
Limited parking is available behind the Unitarian Chapel or an overflow car park is available behind the Hare and Hounds Pub across the road from the Chapel.

Never Stop Learning
The Burnley & District U3A is featured in the “Northern Life” magazine Spring 2013 edition. Written by Pat Ferguson, the piece highlights the history of the U3A and how the Burnley group came about in 2007. Pat also explores Burmley U3A today focussing on the many Groups and expertise of the members and what makes each one unique. From the forty people attending the original meeting to over two hundred to date, the last six years have seen the Burnley U3A grow and grow, helping people to never stop learning.
