Burnley and District U3A will comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws and regulatory frameworks.

Burnley and District U3A’s Data Protection Policy sets out the requirements that Burnley and District U3A has to gather personal information for membership purposes. The policy details how personal information will be gathered, stored and managed in line with data protection principles and the General Data Protection Regulation. The policy is reviewed on an ongoing basis by Burnley and District U3A committee members to ensure that Burnley and District U3A is compliant. Information we collect from users of this website

Burnley and District U3A manage this web site and take the privacy of information provided by visitors to this website seriously.

We do not capture or store personal information about individuals who browse this website, except where this information is given voluntarily such as through e-mail or an online form. We do however collect statistical information which is not personably identifiable (see Information to improve our website below).

What we do with personal information

Where you choose to complete an online form the personal information you give us is used by Burnley and District U3A to enable us to respond to any request, complaint or comment that you have made.

Information to improve our website

Burnley and District U3A use a tool called Google Analytics (which uses cookies) to collect and store aggregated information each time you visit our site including but not exclusively: the date, the type of browser and it’s capabilities including some plugins, the operating system used, and the URL of the referring page. We do not have access to individual IP addresses.

The information collected by Google Analytics allows us to assess the popularity of the pages on the website, so that we can continue to improve our site and access to information.

First Aid Training Session

The First Aid Training Session will take place at the  Unitarian Chapel, Padiham on Wednesday January !5th 2020. It commences at 10 a.m. and runs until 12 noon.

Please note this is a one off session only and not the extended course advertised earlier.

U3A Calendar for 2020

The 2020 U3A Calendar produced by our photography  group is now available and can be picked up at the monthly meeting. The price is at cost this year and represents great value at only £4.00. If you would like one and cannot get to the meetings call Stuart Thorn and we will get one to you or tell you where you can pick one up.

November Open Meeting

The November Open Meeting will be held at Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Knight Hill, Padiham BB12 8JH on Thursday 28 November 2019 commencing at 2:30 pm. The meeting will feature a talk by Robert Macdonald entitled “Rose Tinted Specs and the Scottish Munros”.

Fancy Becoming A Member?

If you fancy joining Burnley and District U3A and attending one or more of our Special Interest Groups please visit our How To Join Burnley and District U3A page. Guests are welcome to attend up to two monthly meetings at a fee of £2.00 per meeting or to attend one Special Interest Group meeting as a taster session. If you have questions or just want to know more about the local U3A you will be welcome to chat with one of our Greeters at the monthly meeting from 2:00pm. The monthly meetings are held at Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Knight Hill, Padiham Lancs BB12 8JH (see our location) and commence at 2:30pm on the fourth Thursday of each month.
