Our dancers are a lively group, anxious to try out and enjoy some wonderful English social dances we have inherited, ranging from traditional jigs from around the country to formal set dances of the 17th century and the elegant Pride and Prejudice type dances of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Add to this the American descendants of these dances, taken to America by the early settlers and now returned to us as lively square dances and contra dances, together with many modern dances based on traditional formations, and you have a vast range of different styles, formations and rhythms to enjoy.

It is a highly sociable activity, involving gentle exercise and performed to music guaranteed to lift the spirit.

Meet in Higham Village Hall at 2.00pm on Thursday 5th and Tuesday 17th March.  Everyone welcome Everyone welcome, you don’t need a partner and transport is available from Padiham if needed.
