Meets: Wednesday alternative weeks PM
Location: Burnley Central Library.
Group Leader: Margaret Nichols
Scrabble was originally developed in 1931 and was called Criss Cross because of its similarity to crossword puzzles. It was redesigned as Scrabble in 1948 and many believe it to be the best word gane there is. Our Group think so!
We get a boost from winning a game of course. Who is not a little competitive? But what we appreciate most is the playing of unusual words or clever little ‘fit-ins’. At the end of the afternoon our brains are tired.
Does this mean we are sharper too? We like to think so.
The group comprises ten members meeting every two weeks in Burnley Central Library where we lease a room for two hours. We are given facilities for making tea (essential). We learn new words, try to remember them and often fail. No matter, we enjoy the process
The Scrabble Group will meet on Wednesdays on the 31 July, 14 and 28 August at 2pm in Burnley Central library.
